We are proud to offer PROPEL®, an advanced orthodontic technique that works with your braces or aligners to fast track your orthodontic treatment. This exciting technology allows most patients—teens and adults alike—to complete their active treatment phase 50% faster than with Invisalign® or braces alone! While each patient varies, many patients can now have their orthodontic treatment completed in just months instead of years.

How does it work?

PROPEL works with the your own biology to stimulate the bone surrounding your teeth, helping the teeth to move faster and more predictably into their ideal position so we can reveal your new smile faster and in fewer visits to our office.

The PROPEL System uses a procedure called Alveocentesis™ to make orthodontic systems, such as Invisalign®, and traditional braces, more efficient. Alveocentesis™ stimulates the production of alveolar bone in the maxilla and mandible (the upper and lower jaw). After PROPEL, the alveolar bone that holds teeth in place adjusts more quickly, allowing your shifting teeth to move into their proper position faster.

What is the process?

As part of your active phase of orthodontics, we will determine if you are a good candidate for PROPEL and create a treatment plan. You with then schedule an appointment for the PROPEL therapy.
At the appointment, we’ll first apply an anesthetic to numb the area around the targeted teeth. We will then use the patented PROPEL tool to stimulate the patient’s teeth in the prescribed areas.
After the appointment you can go on with the rest of your day, as normal!

If my teeth are moving faster, won’t that mean I have to come in more often for appointments?

Actually, no! If you are an Invisalign patient, all you do is switch out your aligners every week rather than every two weeks.

What are the side effects?

There really aren’t any! There is no downtime required for healing.

Most patients don’t feel anything after the anesthesia wears off—at the most they may feel some sensitivity for about 24 hours. If that happens, taking a little Tylenol* should counteract those effects.
